Come Meet Us - May 2015

During the month of May, we’re all over the place to meet with customers, attend or present at events, and generally be available to our community. For the most part we’re sticking to North America, but there are a few things in Europe coming up.

First, Keith Casey (that’s me!) will be a judge at the University of Texas’ School of Journalism’s Demo Day on May 2nd right here in Austin. This will be a chance to see the applications that the students have built this semester. It is open and free for all.

Natalie Chou, Building Leads and Taking NamesNext, on May 4th, both Paul Murphy and Natalie Chou will be at Brightcove’s PLAY Conference in Boston. In addition to meeting customers, we’ll be launching something new and specific to that community. More on that to come. If you want to learn about integrating Brightcove and Clarify, definitely stop by our booth.

Next, Paul is heading to Barcelona, Spain to speak at the API Days Mediterranea Conference on May 6th & 7th. He’ll be giving a session called “Unlocking Data Trapped in Audio & Video Files” where he’ll talk about some of the challenges working with media and how much data can be dropped by accident.

Next, Keith Casey (still me!) is visiting San Francisco on May 19th & 20th to attend Twilio’s Signal Conference. It’s a bit of a throwback as I’ve been to all three previous TwilioCons but as one of their employees. If you’re using Twilio to make phone calls, I’d love to know what you do with the recordings.

Paul Murphy, Unlocking Hidden DataThe following week, Paul will be back in Boston on May 26th & 27th to speak at the Re.Work Deep Learning Summit. In terms of specifics, he’ll be talking about how we use machine learning to analyze, tune, and train our systems to perform the linguistic acrobatics required. We’ll have a display there too so don’t hesitate to stop by.

Finally, we’ll finish the month back home at our offices in Austin, TX with the NewCo Austin event on May 29th. Paul will be speaking about the process of moving a company from the UK to the US and our history covering OP3Nvoice, Techstars London, and the journey to become Clarify. The title of the talk is “Our Trans-Atlantic Voyage.” This is also a free event.

If you come across one of us, say hello. We’ll probably have shirts, stickers, a tasty beverage, or maybe even a new demo to share.
