Announcing The Transcription API

transcription-thumbToday we’re happy to announce our Transcription API. For the first time ever, you can now request transcripts on any bundles you’ve created via the API.

With older systems, you could manually send your audio out for transcripts, wait upwards of 5-7 days, and pay $2-3/minute. That’s not acceptable.

Using our systems, not only do we create transcripts faster, but we do it at a fraction of the cost. Now whenever you create a bundle with us, with a single API request, we can create a transcript for only $1/minute while maintaining an accuracy of approximately 99%.

Transcripts give you the power to do a number of things. The most obvious and simplest is knowing exactly what a customer said. Once you take things a step further, that’s when they become useful. You can perform sentiment analysis, named entity extraction, and start to determine how annoyed that customer really is.

All of that said, transcripts should be considered another tool in your toolbox. They’re not useful in every situation and don’t solve every problem, but they solve problems in ways complementary to our existing time-based search index.

We’re excited to see how you use the Transcript API, what problems you solve, and how we can help you approach them even better. Here are a few things that Clarify customers are already using Transcripts for:

  • Perfect search indexes
  • Input for Natural Language Processing systems
  • Advanced sentiment analysis for customer support
