Come Meet Clarify - September and October 2015

During September and October, we’re all over the place to meet with customers, attend or present at events, and generally be available to our community. For the most part we’re sticking to North America, but there are a few things in Europe coming up.

Pacific NW PHP Rocks
First up, Keith Casey will be at the Pacific Northwest PHP Conference in Seattle on September 10-12. This is a special one. Not only is it their inaugural year, but we’re happy to be a Special Guest API for the AWS Hackathon and Keith Casey (that’s me!) is speaking on “Building Your API Utility Belt” which uses Batman as an analogy for software developers. You’ll have to be there to understand.

After that, our CEO Paul Murphy will be back in London on September 24th & 25th to speak at the Re-Work Deep Learning Summit. He’ll be talking about how we apply deep learning to speech and how adaptation is the only thing that will allow us to extend and improve the state of the art. And he doesn’t just mean “adapt” in the machine learning sense of things, but at higher levels too. We’ll have a display there too so don’t hesitate to stop by.

TADHack ChicagoJust a week later, Paul will be in Chicago on October 3rd & 4th at TADHack Chicago. This is one of the top events for telecom hackers. If you’re looking to explore, experiment, and learn from some of the best in the business, this is the place. While some developers have used us at previous TADHack events, this will be our first time visiting one and being on the ground as everything happens. And yes, that is a tadpole in the logo.

Less than 48 hours after that, you’ll find Paul in San Francisco on October 6th & 7th at FinDEVr 2015. This is a great event focused on demonstrating tools and technologies useful in financial services. Demos rule the day and Powerpoint is not allowed, which is the way we like it. For us, this is like going home. If you’re familiar with Clarify, you know that we started in financial services and get excited about the problems we’re solving there.

Then that weekend, Keith will be traveling to Huntsville, Alabama for the inaugural DevSpace Technical Conference. The first session he’s giving is called “REST Best Practices” which relate to good API design principles and how they fit the real world. The followup is “Is Your API Misbehaving?” and covers using Behavior Driven Development to demonstrate and validate that an API is working as expected. Unfortunately, Batman isn’t in this one.

asteriskFinally, the following week, Keith is visiting Orlando on October 13th-15th to speak at Astricon 2015. This is a unique event as it’s organized for and around the Asterisk open source community led by Digium. Once again, Keith will be speaking about Batman and where he gets those wonderful toys in “Building your API Utility Belt.” If you’re a telecom developer using – or considering using – the ARI, you should definitely come check it out.

If you come across one of us, say hello. We’ll probably have shirts, stickers, a tasty beverage, or maybe even a new demo to share.
