During October and November, we’re all over the place to meet with customers, present at events, and generally be available to our community. This time we’re staying in North America visiting everything from fintech to telecom to API events.
First up, Paul will be in Chicago on October 3rd & 4th at TADHack Chicago. This is one of the top events for telecom hackers. If you’re looking to explore, experiment, and learn from some of the best in the business, this is the place. While some developers have used us at previous TADHack events, this will be our first time visiting one and being on the ground as everything happens. And yes, that is a tadpole in the logo.
Less than 48 hours after that, you’ll find Paul in San Francisco on October 6th & 7th at FinDEVr 2015. This is a great event focused on demonstrating tools and technologies useful in financial services. Demos rule the day and Powerpoint is not allowed, which is the way we like it. For us, this is like going home. If you’re familiar with Clarify, you know that we started in financial services and get excited about the problems we’re solving there.
Then that weekend, Keith will be traveling to Huntsville, Alabama for the inaugural DevSpace Technical Conference. The first session he’s giving is called “REST Best Practices” which relate to good API design principles and how they fit the real world. The followup is “Is Your API Misbehaving?” and covers using Behavior Driven Development to demonstrate and validate that an API is working as expected.
Next, the following week, Keith is visiting Orlando on October 13th-15th to speak at Astricon 2015. This is a unique event as it’s organized for and around the Asterisk open source community led by Digium. Keith will be speaking about Batman and where he gets those wonderful toys in “Building your API Utility Belt.” If you’re a telecom developer using – or considering using – the ARI, you should definitely come check it out.
Next, Keith is heading to Toronto on November 5-7 for the True North PHP Conference to talk about Batman’s Utility Belt and then giving a full workshop on “Is Your API Misbehaving” where he’ll cover how we design and build our helper libraries using Behavior Driven Development. Since this is a three hour workshop, you should make sure to have Behat ready to go.
Finally, the entire team will reassemble in Austin on November 18-20 for the API Strategy and Practice Conference. This is one of the few times each year the best and brightest in the API community comes together. The sessions cover everything from API and payload design to business models to documentation. We’re proud to have a role in making this one happen.
If you come across one of us, say hello. We’ll probably have shirts, stickers, a tasty beverage, or maybe even a new demo to share.
