The Holidays at Clarify

The holidays are a… unique time at Clarify.
First of all, we’re not all American. At last count, among the six of us, we are fluent in 12 languages, carried passports from 10 different nations, represent three religions (or none), and came from all over the world. In fact, about the only two things we all share are a fascination with interesting problems and the English language.
Our British friends may disagree with half of that. 😉
This year to celebrate that, at our annual Holiday Dinner, we each brought a dish from our (or our ancestors’) home countries and had their flags on the wall. Some dishes were truer to form than others, but all were delicious.
Here’s our menu for those who are interested:
- Graham and his wife represented both Denmark with finger sandwiches called Smørrebrød and Italy with panna cotta topped with coulis;
- Natalie represented both Taiwan with drunken chicken and Scotland with whisky;
- Andrea and family represented Israel with Matzah ball soup;
- Keith and family represented both Canada with vegetable hash and Texas with 7 layer dip;
- Bala and family represented India with vegetable cutlets and coconut rice;
- Ivo represented Germany with strudel;
- My wife and I represented Australia with seafood and France with fantastic cheese and wine;
- and we had honorable mentions with Spanish and Italian cheeses, and wine from both Texas and California.
Yes, we know California was never a country.
