sxswDuring March and April, we’re mostly staying in Texas but branching into some topics/industries that are near and dear to our hearts. This will include everything from libraries to telecom to barbecue.

  • First off in a couple weeks, we’ll be at SXSW Interactive on March 11-15th. Paul Murphy will be on a panel, Keith is presenting with [major partner, details to be announced]. Further, we have a number of customers hosting major events in both the Interactive and Film portions, so we’re looking forward to it. We’ll be showing off some of our latest creations and contraptions.
  • Next, I (Keith) will be visiting Louisville, KY to speak at Code PaLOUsa on March 28-30th. He’ll be covering the challengges and steps and in turning your side or internal projects into real live products in “Projects are not Products” (link). It won’t be a complete playbook but will include lessons learned and some general approaches and pitfalls to avoid.
  • Lone Star PHP LogoApril kicks off with Paul and I visiting the Electronic Resources & Libraries Conference right here in Austin on the 3rd-6th. We’ll be talking about different types of data librarians current collect and should be collecting from their media collections. In an ever-growing digital-first (or digital-only!) collection, the only way to solve the problem is think differently. We hope to help with that. Our sessions are available here and here.
  • Later that same week, I’m heading to Addison, TX for the Lone Star PHP Conference. On workshop day, I’m presenting on our external API testing strategy called “Is Your API Misbehaving?” Later in the event, I’m also giving my infamous “Shattering Secrets with Social Media” which is independent research that I’ve been working on for the last few years.

If you come across one of us, say hello. We’ll probably have shirts, stickers, a tasty beverage, or maybe even a new demo to share.
